Key Stage 2 Results

2016 End of Key Stage 2 SAT’s Results

Smallwood Primary School has a language unit as part of the school. This is a 40 place unit for children with Speech, Language & Communication difficulties. All the children in the unit have high level statements and require specialist provision.  Most of the children started their education in other Wandsworth Primary Schools, although some children have been referred to Smallwood from other local authorities. The vast majority are transported in by bus or taxi. The published results for this school include these children. We believe that this gives a better comparison with other schools as well as local authority and national averages.

Progress Measures

  • A score of 0 means pupils in this school, on average, do about as well at key stage 2 as those with similar prior attainment nationally.
  • A positive score means pupils in this school on average do better at key stage 2 than those with similar prior attainment nationally. For example, a school with a maths progress score of +3 would mean that, on average, pupils in this school achieved 3 scaled score points higher in the key stage 2 maths test than other pupils with similar prior attainment nationally.
  • A negative reading score does not mean that pupils did not make any progress between key stages 1 and 2. A negative score means that they made less progress than other pupils nationally with similar prior attainment. A negative score will not necessarily mean a school is below the floor.
  • For the progress part of the floor standard, a school needs progress scores of at least -5 in reading, -5 in mathematics and -7 in writing.
